Snow Plow Truck Burns During Snow/Ice Storm

Snow Plow Truck Fire

 

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Wednesday, February 14th, at 09:49 hours to the 900 block of Greenbriar Lane for a vehicle fire involving a private snow plow truck.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and Chief 44-9, the plow truck was well involved with fire in the engine and passenger compartment of the truck.

TAC 44 arrived on location went into service with an 1 3/4" hose line.  Firefighters from Engine 44-4 assisted the firefighters from TAC 44 with extinguishment.  Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire.

Two of the operators of the plow truck were transported to the hospital by Ambulance 44-7 for minor burns to the hands.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 10:30 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
