Car Catches Fire in front of the High School

 

Springfield Firefighters were alerted at 07:03 hours on Wednesday, January 3rd, to 111 West Leamy Avenue, Springfield High School, in front of the High School for a Vehicle Fire.  TAC 44 arrived on location and had a vehicle's engine compartment well involved in fire.  Firefighters from TAC 44 placed an 1 3/4" hose line into service and quickly controlled the fire.

Firefighters from Engine 44-4 assisted on the scene.  The driver of the vehicle was alerted by other drivers that his vehicle was on fire.  The driver stopped the vehicle and exited unharmed.  The vehicle was a total loss.  Springfield Fire Police and Springfield Police Department redirected traffic in front of the High School during the emergency.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 07:33 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
