Springfield Assists Morton Fire Company on Auto Accident with Entrapment

Rescue 44 in Service

 

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to assist Morton Fire Company (Company 11) on Tuesday, April 10th, at 16:14 hours, for an Accident with Entrapment in the area of Baltimore Pike and Leamy Avenue.  Upon arrival of Morton and Springfield Police units, the accident was on Baltimore Pike in front of Kohl's Department store.

Firefighters from Engine 11-2 provided initial stabilization until the arrival of TAC 44 and Rescue 44.  Firefighters placed the Holmatro rescue tools into service to remove the drivers side door of one vehicle to free the driver.  Firefighters had the driver extricated in minutes and assisted the EMS crews with patient removal and packaging.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 16: 44 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 11-2, TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7, Ambulance 14-7, Medic 102, Medic 106, Morton Police, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
