VFW Post 5705 Honors Firefighter of the Year

Springfield Fire Company attended the annual Loyalty Day ceremony hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5705 on Saturday, April 28th at the Township Building.  The VFW each year honors a member from the Fire Company as Firefighter of the Year and a member from the Police Department and Ambulance Corps.

Captain Robert Tracey was the recipient of the award this year for his dedication and service to Springfield Fire Company and the residents of Springfield Township.  Captain Tracey has over 25 years of firefighting service and more than 12 years with Springfield Fire Company.  He has held positions within the Fire Police, Board of Directors as well as serving as a Firefighter and Lieutenant before his current position as Captain.  Captain Tracey was also responsible for upgrading the Fire Company dress uniforms that the membership currently wears at public events and parades.

The members of Springfield Fire Company congratulate Captain Robert Tracey on this well deserved recognition as VFW Post #5705 Firefighter of the Year for 2007.
