Firefighters Assist Swarthmore on Accident with Entrapment on Yale Avenue

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to assist Swarthmore Fire Company (Company 14) on Wednesday, December 6th, at 17:05 hours for an Accident with Entrapment at the intersection of Yale Avenue and Park Avenue in Swarthmore Borough.  Rescue  44 arrived on the scene and quickly set-up to remove the drivers side door on one vehicle.  Firefighters from Company 14 and Company 13 (Rutledge) had already stabilized the vehicle prior to Rescue 44 arriving on scene.

Firefighters from Rescue 44 removed the drivers door within minutes and assisted the EMS crew with removal of the driver from the vehicle.  Firefighters from Company 11 (Morton) assisted on the scene.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 17:45 hours.

Companies operating on the scene were:  Company 14, Company 11, Company 13, Rescue Company 44, Rescue Company 51 (South Media), Medic 102 (Taylor Hospital), Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Ambulance 44-7, Swarthmore Police and Sixth District Fire Police.
