Chief Theodore "Ted" Green Answers His Final Alarm Springfield Fire Company respectfully announces the passing of Chief Theodore "Ted" Green. Chief Green passed away on Sunday, October 22nd. Ted Green joined Springfield Fire Company on January 20, 1934 and held numerous positions within the Fire Company during his 72 years of service to the citizens of Springfield Township. Ted Green held the position of Chief from November 18th, 1957 to November 16th, 1959. Chief Green was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy, where he attained the rank of Electrician's Mate Second Class (EM2c) and received the American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal. He was an associate professor of engineering at Temple University for 30 years before retiring in 1988 and was a teacher at Williamson Trade School for three years. Springfield Fire company wishes to express our condolences to the Green family and thank them for supporting Chief Green during his years of service at Springfield Fire Company.
