Vehicle Fire Damages Auto Repair Shop

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Thursday, October 5th, at 09:04 hours to 1198 Baltimore Pike, Bob's Mobile Service Shop, for a Building Fire.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police, heavy smoke and fire were showing in the garage area.  Engine 44-1 arrived on location and went into service with an 1 3/4" hose line.  Tower 14 (Swarthmore) laddered the building and assisted firefighters from Engine 44-1.

Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire.  The building was equipped with a sprinkler system which helped to contain the fire until firefighters arrived.  One worker was transported by Ambulance 23-7 (Media) to Springfield Hospital for burn injuries sustained.  The building sustained moderate damage as well as two vehicles inside the garage area.

The fire is under investigation by Springfield Township's Fire Marshal.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 10:04 hours.

Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-1, Engine 44-2, Tower 44, Tower 14, Engine 14-2, Ambulance 23-7, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Fire Police and Springfield Township's Fire Marshal Car 1.
