Assist to Morton for an Accident with Entrapment

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, August 20th, at 19:06 hours to assist Morton Fire Company (Company 11) on Route 420 (Morton Avenue) and Kedron Avenue for an Accident with Entrapment.  Upon arrival of Company 11, there was a two vehicle accident in the intersection and the driver of one vehicle was trapped.  Firefighters from Company 11 started vehicle stabilization upon arrival.

Rescue 44 arrived on the scene and assisted with vehicle stabilization and set-up for rescue operations.  Firefighters placed the Holmatro rescue tools into service and quickly removed the drivers side door to allow for the driver to be removed.  Firefighters from TAC 44 and Utility 44 assisted on the scene.  Firefighters assisted EMS personnel with removing the driver from the vehicle.

Springfield firefighters remained on the scene until 19:36 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 11-1, Rescue 44, TAC 44, Utility 44, Engine 11-2, Medic 102, Ridley 7, Morton Police and Sixth District Fire Police.
