Memorial Day Parade 2006 The Springfield Fire Company participated in the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29th . The parade honors those men and women who have served and are currently serving their country, especially those who gave the supreme sacrifice. Springfield Fire Company Firefighter Brian Pace participated with Springfield Police, Springfield American Legion and VFW Post 5705 with carrying the colors to lead the line of march for the parade. Memorial ceremonies were held at Veterans Memorial Park, St. Francis Of Assisi, Old Central School and the Township Building (50 Powell Road). Numerous residents attended the parade to honor those who gave so much for our freedoms. The Grand Marshal of the parade was, Springfield native and retired Navy Vice Admiral, Joseph Sestak. The Springfield Fire Company would like to honor and thank, along with all Township residents, the men and women who protected our great nation and continue to stand guard in the name of peace and freedom. Springfield Fire Company also honors two members that are currently serving with the United States Marine Corps, Firefighter Timothy English and Firefighter Sean Getz. |
