2006 Saint Patrick's Day Parade Honors Springfield Fire Company Member

Springfield Fire Company congratulates Past Chief Steve Burns on being honored as the Grand Marshal of Springfield Township's 2006 Saint Patrick's Day Parade.  Steve Burns has been a member of Springfield Fire Company for 46 years and was President from 1978 thru 1980 and Fire Chief from 1983 thru 1988.  He is currently active as Vice President with the Springfield Township Firemen's Relief Association and a Fire Company Trustee.  Steve Burns was also a Police Officer with the Springfield Police Department for 27 years.

Springfield Fire Company members and apparatus were in the line of march enjoying a great day and celebrating with all the Irish, and Irish for a Day, residents.  The fire prevention team of Patches and Pumper were also back in the line of march this year, enjoying the festivities and showing off to all the kids along the parade route.

Springfield Fire Company would again like to thank all the residents for the praise and positive comments throughout the parade route.  The continued support shown to the Fire Company throughout the year is what makes our job of protecting Springfield Township so much easier and rewarding.
