Overturned Vehicle on Providence Road

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched early Sunday morning, March 5th, at 01:55 hours to the 1200 block of Providence Road for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and Chief 44-9B, one vehicle was on its side in the roadway and the driver of the vehicle was still inside.

TAC 44 arrived on location and started stabilization as medical personnel from 44-7 and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) assessed the patient from outside the vehicle.  Firefighters from Rescue 44 assisted with stabilization and then the removal of the front windshield was completed to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was transported by Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 to Crozer Chester Medical Center for observation.  The accident is under investigation by Springfield Police.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 02:25 hours.
