Vehicle Fire on the Pike

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Monday, January 16th, at 10:25 hours to the 100 block of Baltimore Pike for a Vehicle Fire.  Upon arrival of Lieutenant 44-13, there was a small size pickup truck in front of the Mattress Giant (104 Baltimore Pike) with the engine compartment well involved with fire.

TAC 44 arrived on location and placed an 1 3/4" hose line in service and quickly controlled the fire.  Firefighters from Engine 44-4 assisted on the scene.  There was no damage to the Mattress Giant store.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 10:55 hours.

Units operating at the vehicle fire were:  TAC 44, Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
