Fire Company Holds Annual Crew Dinner and Honors a Milestone

Springfield Fire Company held the annual Crew Dinner at the Springfield Country Club on Tuesday, November 22nd.  The event takes place each year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  It is a time for all the members to come together and remember the past year and tell stories from the years gone by.  In addition to members protecting Springfield Township, Springfield Fire Company currently has members protecting citizens of the City of Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and two of our members, Tim English and Sean Getz, are currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps overseas.

Springfield Fire Company members honored one of our most active members on a big milestone as a member with Springfield Fire Company.  During the 2005 year, Firefighter John Hinchcliffe responded on his 10,000 alarm with the Fire Company.  John Hinchcliffe joined Springfield Fire Company back in 1972 and has become known to many throughout the community and surrounding fire companies.  Known to many people as the "Mayor" of Springfield, John Hinchcliffe has been dedicated to serving his community of Springfield for the past 33 years and continues to be one of the most active members with the Springfield Fire Company.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank John Hinchcliffe on his 10,000 alarm and we look forward to having him handle another 10,000 alarms with the Fire Company.  Springfield Fire Company would like to wish all residents a happy and safe holiday season.
