Afternoon Kitchen Fire in Media Boro

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to assist Media Fire Company (Company 23) on Wednesday, November 16th, at 14:25 hours to 333 West Fifth Street, Media Boro for a Dwelling Fire.  Police units arrived on the scene and reported a working fire in the kitchen area of the residence.

Squrt 23 arrived on location and reported smoke showing.  The fire was contained by the Police Department and Medic 23 with fire extinguishers.  Firefighters from Squrt 23, Quint 73 and Tower 44 worked on the scene checking for fire extension, ventilation and salvage and overhaul.

Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area with smoke and dry chemical powder throughout the dwelling.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 15:25 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Squrt 23, Quint 73, Tower 44, Engine 51-2, Engine 44-1, Rescue 73, Snorkel 23, Ambulance 23-7A,
