Live Fire Training at Training Center Springfield Fire Company headed down to the Delaware County Emergency Services Training Center on Tuesday, June21st, to use the Burn Building to conduct some live fire training exercises. Training fires were set-up on the second floor of the Burn Building and firefighters worked in teams of 3 or 4. The primary goal of the training night was to review fire attack and search and rescue operations. Firefighters worked with 1 3/4" hose lines off of Engine 44-1 and were given tactical assignments before entering the Burn Building. Members of Springfield Ambulance Corps were involved with the training exercise, setting up rehab for firefighters once they were finished. The second half of the training night involved fire attack exercises along with locating a missing firefighter inside the burn building. Firefighters worked to locate the missing firefighter with Thermal Imaging Cameras and the PASS (Personal Alert Safety System) device located on the missing firefighter. The training exercise was a success and all the members involved came back with some valuable training lessons. |
