Rescue Truck Sold to Holmes Fire Company

Picture 2

Springfield Fire Company placed Rescue 44 out of service on April 11th, 2005.  Holmes Fire Company (Company 43), Ridley Township, PA purchased the vehicle to replace their current 1976 GMC rescue truck.  The 1991 Pierce Lance Heavy Rescue was placed into service in November 1991.  Holmes Fire Company members took possession of the rescue truck on April 19th.  The rescue truck was owned by the Springfield Township Fireman's Relief Association and the sale of this vehicle will help offset the cost of the new rescue truck.

Springfield Fire Company hopes Holmes Fire Company has just as many reliable years of service with Rescue 44 as the membership of Springfield Fire Company did during it's 13 years of service.

Holmes Fire Company has plans to repaint the truck and do some minor modifications to the apparatus before placing it into service as Rescue 43.  The delivery of the 2005 Sutphen rescue truck is not excepted until late June.  Engine 44-4 has been equipped with the new Holmatro rescue tools and other rescue equipment to handle rescue calls along with TAC 44 until the new rescue is placed into service.
