Vehicle Fire in the Parking Lot of St. Francis of Assisi

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, April 19th, at 18:51 hours to 136 Saxer Avenue, St. Francis of Assisi, for a Vehicle Fire.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B, the was a vehicle with the engine compartment on fire in the rear parking lot of the church.

TAC 44 arrived on location and placed an 1 3/4" hose line in service to quickly control the fire.  Firefighters from Engine 44-4 assisted the on the scene with final extinguishment and spreading oil dry on a oil spill that was caused by the vehicle before it caught fire.

Firefighter remained on the scene until 19:20 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Engine 44-4, Springfield Police and Fire Police and Springfield Township's Fire Marshal.
