Accident on Golden Mile Traps Two

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, March 15th, at 09:41 hours to 50 Baltimore Pike, in front of Springfield Ford, for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.  Lieutenant 44-13 arrived on location and reported a two vehicle accident, one vehicle was on it's side with two occupants trapped inside the vehicle.

TAC 44 arrived on location and started stabilization of the vehicle on its side using the "Junk Yard Dog" rescue struts.  Springfield Command had Rescue 20 (Garrettford-Drexel Hill) dispatched to assist on the scene.  Firefighters from Rescue 20 assisted the firefighters from TAC 44 with rescue operations.  Firefighters removed the front windshield and used the Hurst Rescue tools to remove part of the roof to gain access to the trapped subjects so they could be removed by EMS personnel.  Firefighters assisted EMS personnel with removing the occupants of the vehicle and they were transported by Ambulance 44-7 & 44-7A to local hospitals for observation.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 10:41 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 20, Ambulance 44-7 & 44-7A, Medic 106, Medic 106-9 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Fire Police.
