Fire Company Called to Gain Access Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Thursday, March 3rd at 14:33 hours to assist Ambulance 44-7 in the 600 block of Dutton Circle with Gaining Access into a dwelling. Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) were dispatched to the home for a medical emergency. Medical personnel were unable to gain access to the patient in a second floor bathroom. The medical personnel requested the fire company for a ladder to gain access to the bathroom from an outside window. Tower 44 responded and firefighters used a ground ladder to access the second floor bathroom window. Firefighters had to break the window to gain access into the bathroom. Firefighters provided an initial assessment on the patient before removing resident from the doorway area and allowing medical personnel into the bathroom to handle the incident. Firefighters and EMS personnel remained on the scene until 15:18 hours. Units operating on the scene were: Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Tower 44 and Springfield Police. |
