Firefighter Stapleton Receives Award during Washington DC Fire Department Academy Graduation

Firefighter/EMT Jamie Stapleton completed his training at the Washington DC Fire Academy on Friday, November 19th.  Firefighter Stapleton graduated in the 339th Recruit Class of the Washington DC Fire and EMS Department.  Firefighter Stapleton was awarded the Fittest of the Fit Award for his physical conditioning and also setting a DCFD record for the fastest 1 1/2 mile for a DCFD recruit.  Firefighter Stapleton set a mark of 7 minutes and 22 seconds breaking the old record of 7 minutes and 28 seconds held by present Capt. Thornhill of DCFD.

Firefighter Stapleton has been assigned to Engine 23 in the Foggy Bottom section of the District (George Washington University area).

Springfield Fire Company wishes Firefighter Stapleton the best with his new Company and congratulates him on joining seven other Springfield Firefighters on becoming a Firefighter in our nation's capital.
