Car Crashes into House on Bishop Avenue

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on alarm #04-837 on Wednesday, November 3rd, at 14:13 hours for a Motor Vehicle into a House on North Bishop Avenue at Hawarden Road.

Upon arrival of TAC 44, one vehicle had stuck the house at the corner of North Bishop Avenue and Hawarden Road and the driver of the vehicle was still inside the vehicle.  Firefighters from TAC 44 stabilized the vehicle and used hand tools to quickly open the drivers door to evaluate the driver.  A resident of the home was in the living room of the dwelling when the vehicle struck the outside wall of the living room.

Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Ambulance 44-7 & 7A and Medic 103-7B (Delco Hospital) assisted on the scene and transported the driver and the resident to Crozer Chester Medical Center for evaluation.

The house sustained moderate damage to the front masonary wall and window of the living room.  The building was inspected by Code Enforcement personnel from Springfield Township.

Firefighters remained on the scene until the vehicle was removed from the building.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7 & 7A, Medic 106, Medic 103-7B, Springfield Police & Fire Police, and Springfield Township's Code Enforcement.
