Springfield Firefighters Participate in Family Day at Willow Grove Air Base Springfield Fire Company was a guest of the 913th Maintenance Group, Willow Grove Air Reserve Station at the Annual Family Day at Willow Grove Air Base on Saturday, September 11th. Eight members of the Fire Company participated in a memorial ceremony at the Air Base to honor all service men and women who have given their lives protecting our freedoms and also honored the heroes lost on September 11th, 2001. The Members were given a tour of the Air Base and some of the military equipment on the Air Base. Springfield Firefighters were thankful to all the military personnel for the hospitality and dedication to the continued protection of our country. Before the days events were over, Springfield Firefighters thought they had recruited a new member for the Fire Company. Ronald McDonald© was on hand for the days events and took a shot at driving Tower 44. We were informed that he would be honored to join, but time commitments with his current employer would not allow him to join at this time. Springfield Firefighters returned back to Station 44 in time to see the Delco CUP being brought into Springfield Township from the Firefighter's Competition at Rose Tree Park.
