Chief Reese Fox Answers His Final Alarm

Springfield Fire Company respectfully announces the passing of Chief Maurice (Reese) J. Fox.  Chief Fox passed away on Saturday evening, August 14th.  Chief Fox held numerous positions within Springfield Fire Company during his 52 years of service to the citizens of Springfield Township.  Chief Fox held the position of Chief from November 20th, 1961 to November 16th, 1964.  Chief Fox was also a Police Officer with the Springfield Police Department from 1952 and retired at the rank of Sergeant in 1981.

Chief Fox was honored by Springfield Fire Company in 2001 by being an honoree on the Volunteer Memorial Wall at Springfield Volunteer Memorial Field (Saxer Avenue and Powell Road) during the 2001 Fourth of July ceremony for his exemplary service to Springfield Fire Company and the citizens Springfield Township.

Springfield Fire company wishes to express our condolences to the Fox family and thank them for supporting Chief Fox during his years at Springfield Fire Company.

Services for Chief Maurice J. Fox are as follows:

    Wednesday Evening:  M.F.Williams Funeral Home, Clifton Heights - 19:00 hours to 21:00 hours

    Thursday Morning:  10:00 hours, Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Springfield, Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Media, PA
