House Scheduled for Demolition Benefits Firefighters

Springfield Fire Company firefighters benefited from a house on West Avenue that is scheduled for demolition.  The Fire Company used the opportunity to have firefighters practice different skills used on fire grounds.

Springfield's firefighters practiced some Truck Company Operations which includes: scene size-up, placing ground ladders for rescue and ventilation, using ground ladders to access the roof, using power saws and hand tools to ventilate the roof, and proper removal of windows during ventilation operations.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank the local contractor who contacted the fire company and offered the home for training.  Springfield Fire Company would also like to thank local residents that came out and watched the firefighters during the training exercises and were happy to see their local firefighters improving their skills.

Springfield Fire Company hopes to utilize the house as much as possible before it is demolished to make way for two new homes.
