Midday Accident on Saxer Avenue Traps Two Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on alarm #04-326 on Sunday, May 16th, at 12:21 hours to Saxer Avenue and Orchard Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9, the accident call was upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Multiple Entrapment. TAC 44 arrived on location, stabilized both vehicles and quickly extricated one occupant in the first vehicle using the Hurst Maverick Tool. Rescue 44 arrived on location and performed the extrication on the second vehicle using the Hurst rescue tools. Medical personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and 44-7A, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) and Medic 102 (Taylor Hospital) treated the injured subjects and transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center and Springfield Hospital. While operating on the scene of the accident Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to a vehicle fire on East Springfield Road and Rose Lane. The call was handled by Engine 44-1 and Engine 03-1 (Clifton Heights). The fire was caused by an oil leak which was under control prior to the fire company's arrival. Firefighters remained on the scene until 12:51 hours. Units operating on the scene were: TAC 44, Rescue 44, Engine 44-1 Ambulance 44-7 and 44-7A, Medic 106, Medic 102, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
