Springfield Firefighter Joins the Washington DC Fire Department Springfield Fire Company Firefighter/EMT Matthew Woolston joins the ranks of the Washington DC Fire Department on Monday, April 19th as part of the new Recruit Class. Firefighter Woolston will be starting the Academy on that day and the training lasts for approximately 22 weeks. Firefighter Woolston becomes part of a list of Firefighters from Springfield Fire Company that have gone on to work for the Washington DC Fire Department. Springfield Fire Company members either retired from or currently working for the department include: James Gallagher (retired Deputy Chief), Larry Anderson (Captain, Truck 13), Jim Vlassopoulos (Captain, Engine 18), Dan White (Lieutenant, Truck 6), Joseph Myers (Technician, Engine 10) and Robert Callahan (Lieutenant, Haz-Mat 1 & past member of Company 44). Springfield Fire Company wishes Firefighter Woolston the best as he heads to our nation's capital. |
