Springfield Fire Company took delivery of a 2004 Sutphen Engine on Saturday, March 27th.  The engine was delivered to the station by a representative from Sutphen Corporation.  The truck has been in the planning stages for over two years and all the hard work by members of the fire company shows in the design and layout of the apparatus.

The new engine will become the first out apparatus on all building fires in Springfield Township.  The engine is equipped with a Detroit Diesel 60 Series motor rated at 490 horsepower, 2000 gpm Hale Pump, 900 gallons of water, seating for six firefighters, a 10 kilowatt Onan generator, 4000 watt light tower, two Bullard Thermal Imaging Cameras and numerous hand tools.

The engine will be placed into service once training has been completed by the members and the engine has received all of it vehicle lettering.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank the citizens of Springfield Township for the continued support of the Fire Company and for making this new vehicle purchase possible.

Paul Schaum was the Chairman of the apparatus committee for this engine and he was proud to see the delivery of the new little Sutphen.
