Firefighters Extricate Driver in Accident on West Sproul Road

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, February 13, on alarm #04-099 at 12:27 hours to the 700 Block of West Sproul Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Upon arrival of Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), two vehicles were involved and one driver needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

TAC 44 and Chief 44-9 arrived on the scene and started stabilizing the vehicle.  Chief 44-9 had Company 44 dispatched for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment and also had Company 53 (Broomall) dispatched to assist at the scene.

Firefighters removed all the doors and the roof of the vehicle to provide room to the remove the driver.  Firefighters used the Hurst Rescue equipment on TAC 44 and Rescue 44 and equipment from Rescue 53.   The driver of the vehicle was removed by EMS personnel and firefighters and transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center by Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 13:27 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Rescue 53, Engine 53-2, Ambulance 53-7, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
