Dryer Fire Smokes Up Residence Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on alarm #03-14 on Wednesday, January 7th, at 15:41 hours to the unit block of Worrell Drive for a Dwelling Fire. Upon arrival of Captain 44-12A, smoke was showing from the basement area of a home and the homeowner was reporting a dryer fire. Engine 44-1 arrived on the scene and went into service with a 1 3/4" hose line and quickly contained the fire to the dryer. Firefighters used the Thermal Imaging Camera to check for any possible fire extension. The fire was contained the dryer unit and firefighters from Company 44 and Company 03 (Clifton Heights) ventilated the structure and removed the dryer unit. The structure sustained minor smoke damage. Firefighters remained on the scene until 16:41 hours. Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-1, Engine 44-2, Quint 03, Engine 03-2, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Fire Police. |
