Fire Company Ends 2003 with 986 Incidents

Springfield Fire Company ends the 2003 year with a total of 986 incidents.  The Fire Company ended 2003 at the funeral home, O'Leary's Funeral (640 East Springfield Road) to be exact.  The last call for the year was at 21:58 hours for a Brush Fire outside the funeral home.

The year was another busy one for the members of Springfield Fire Company.  2003 marks the fifth straight year that incidents have totaled over 900.

Springfield Fire Company has many projects planned for 2004.  The new engine currently under construction at the Sutphen Corporation in Columbus, OH, will be delivered sometime in late February.

Members of the company are also working on apparatus specifications for a new Rescue truck.  The vehicle will be financed by the Springfield Township Firemen's Relief Association.  Delivery for the vehicle is planned for 2005.

Springfield Fire Company is also planning some training exercises for 2004 that will utilize some existing buildings in the township that are scheduled for demolition for new housing developments.

The Members of Springfield Fire Company would like to thank the residents of Springfield Township for another successful year.  Without the continued support of the residents of Springfield Township, Springfield Fire Company would not be where it is today.  Have a Fire Safe New Year.
