Fire Company Chaplain Remembered

Springfield Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of Fire Company Chaplain, Reverend William Elbert.  Reverend Elbert passed away on December 24 at his current residence in Wayne County, PA.

Reverend Elbert joined Springfield Fire Company on October 26, 1955 and held the position of Fire Company Chaplain until his passing.  Reverend Elbert was a Life Member of Springfield Fire Company and a past active member of the Springfield Fire Police.

Reverend Elbert was the pastor of Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church in Springfield from 1950 until his retirement in 1981.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, 400 Lynbrooke Road, Springfield, on Friday, January 23rd, at 2p.m.  Visitation will be at the church from 1-2p.m.

The family has requested that contributions be made to the Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, 400 Lynbrooke Road, Springfield, PA  19064, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
