Firefighters Extricate Driver in One Vehicle Crash

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Alarm #03-880 on Sunday, November 23rd, at 13:35 hours for a Motor Vehicle Accident on West Woodland Avenue at Orchard Road.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9 and Chief 44-9B, one car had struck a tree trapping the driver of the vehicle.  The call was upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.

TAC 44 arrived on the scene and stabilized the vehicle while personnel from Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) and Ambulance 44-7A evaluated the driver and treated one passenger.  Firefighters from TAC 44 and Rescue 44 removed the driver-side door using the Hurst Maverick Tool.  Firefighters assisted Ambulance 44-7 with removal of the driver from the vehicle.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 14:05 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7 & 44-7A, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
