Springfield Remembers Fallen Heroes from 09/11/01

Springfield Township marked the second anniversary of the attack of September 11th, 2001 with a memorial service at the Township Building Memorial for the Victims of 9/11/01.  Springfield Fire Company, Springfield Police Department, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Springfield Emergency Medical Services, Springfield Township employees and citizens all took part in the memorial service at 12:00pm to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks.

Springfield Fire Company was also honored by the First Grade Classes of Scenic Hills Elementary School.  The First Grade Classes of Mrs. Gruin (Room 22), Mrs. Smith (Room 21), Mrs. D'Esposito (Room 20), Mrs. McGlynn (Room 7), Ms. Shorti (Room 6), Mrs. Lieb (Room 3) and Mrs. Caftafero (Room 5) honored the members of Springfield Fire Company with some homemade goodies and a banner saluting the fire company.   Elizabeth Hagarty (Homeroom Mom - Room 6) and Owen Hagarty presented the goodies and the banner to Captain Michael Ranieri and Career Firefighter Alan Stapleton at the firehouse Thursday morning, September 11th.

Springfield Fire Company would also like to recognize Nick's Roast Beef, 20 East Woodland Avenue, for the fund raiser that they held on September 11th to honor Springfield Fire Company and the Springfield Police Department.  $2.00 from every sandwich purchased on September 11th was going to be donated to the Fire Company and Police Department.

Springfield Fire Company would especially like to thank all the residents of Springfield Township for their continued support.  It is great to be protecting such a wonderful community.  All the members of Springfield Fire Company say Thank You!!
