Trash Fire behind the Rite Aid Store Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Alarm #03-571 on Sunday, August 3rd, at 02:10 hours to 176 Saxer Avenue, the Rite Aid Store, for a Building Fire. Upon arrival of 44-13A, there was a trash fire outside a rear service entrance of the store. Engine 44-1 arrived on location and went into service with a 1" booster line to quickly control the fire. Firefighters from Tower 44 laddered the building and checked the roof area for any possible fire extension into the building. The fire was contained to the outside of the building in a pile of wooden pallets and trash. The fire is under investigation by Springfield Township's Fire Marshal's Office and Springfield Police. Firefighters remained on the scene until 02:56 hours. Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Medic 103-7B, Springfield Police and Springfield Township Fire Marshal (Car 1). |
