Midday Accident Traps Passenger

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Alarm # 03-557 on Tuesday, July 29th, at 11:05 hours to State Road and West Springfield Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and TAC 44, there was a two vehicle accident in the intersection and a passenger in one vehicle required extrication.  The call was upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.

Firefighters from TAC 44 stabilized one vehicle and began extricating the trapped passenger using the Hurst Maverick rescue tool.  Rescue 44 arrived on the scene and assisted the crew from TAC 44.

Ambulance 44-7A and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) were assisted at the scene by Ambulance 53-7 (Marple), Ambulance 23-7 (Media) and Medic 101 (Crozer Supervisor).

Two people were transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center and the third person was transported to Springfield Hospital.

Firefighter remained on the scene until 11:55 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7A, Medic 106, Ambulance 53-7, Ambulance 23-7, Medic 101, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
