Springfield Fire Company visited the Ryan Lincoln Mercury Kia Auto Dealership at 321 Baltimore Pike on Thursday, July 24th, to take part in a charity event.  Ryan Lincoln Mercury Kia donated 70 20" Fuji bikes to eight different charity groups to support needy children in the local area.

Springfield Fire Company was also honored by Ryan Lincoln Mercury Kia for the services that the Fire Company provides to the community every day.  Springfield Fire Company representatives, Captain Edward Clapper and Safety Officer John Hammell, were presented with a check for $1000 on behalf of the Ryan Lincoln Mercury Dealership.

Ryan Lincoln Mercury Kia is very familiar with the services that the Fire Company provides.  Almost two years ago, the Fire Company responded to a car fire inside the service garage of the Auto Dealership, (formerly called Chapman Lincoln Mercury Kia).  The quick actions of employees to call 911 and the quick response of Springfield Fire Company kept damages to a minimum and the dealership was open for business the next day.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank Ryan Lincoln Mercury Dealership for the donation.  The money will be used to help continue providing the highest level of fire protection to the residents and businesses of Springfield Township.

Charities receiving bikes were:  Delaware County Children & Youth Services (18 bikes), Children's Choice (8 bikes), City Team Minitries (9 bikes), Woman Association for Women Alternative (10 bikes), Family Center (5 bikes), Missionaries of Charity (5 bikes), Family and Community Services (10 bikes) and House of Prayer (5 bikes).
