Accident in Parking Lot Traps Driver

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, July18th, at 12:23 hours to the parking lot of Trio Dinettes, 375 Baltimore Pike for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police and Ambulance 44-7A there was a one vehicle accident with the driver trapped inside the vehicle.  Chief 44-9 arrived on the scene and had the incident upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.

TAC 44 arrived on the scene and stabilized the vehicle and used the Hurst Maverick rescue tool to remove the drivers-side door to allow for removal of the driver.  Firefighters from Rescue 44 assisted the crew from TAC 44.

Ambulance 44-7A and Medic 106 transported the driver to Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 12:53 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7A, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
