Assist to Upper Providence on Two Alarm House Fire

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Alarm # 03-534 on Thursday, July 17th, at 07:20 hours to assist Rose Tree Fire Company (Company 73) on the Second Alarm for a House Fire in the 200 Block of East Rose Tree Road, Upper Providence Township.

Company 73 and Company 23 (Media) were initially dispatched to the address from a Structure Fire.  Upon arrival of Upper Providence Police and Chief 73-9 a working fire was confirmed in the attic area of the residence.  A second alarm was dispatched four minutes after the initial dispatch.

Quint 73 arrived on location and positioned in the driveway of the home and went into service with an 1 3/4" hose line.  Firefighters from Squrt 23 and Rescue 73 provided additional manpower inside and also provided ventilation on the roof.  A 5" water supply was established on a hydrant 100' feet from the fire scene.  Firefighters made a quick stop on the fire and contained the fire in the attic area.

Firefighters from Tower 44, Rescue 52 (Brookhaven), Engine 51-1 (South Media), Rescue 51 and Rescue 44 assisted on the scene with salvage and overhaul operations and checking for any fire extension.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 09:25 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Quint 73, Rescue 73, Squrt 23, Tower 44, Rescue 52, Engine 51-1, Rescue 51, Rescue 44, Ambulance 23-7, Ambulance 69-7A (Lima), Medic 23, Upper Providence Police, Sixth District Fire Police and Upper Providence Fire Marshal.
