Electrical Fire in Dynasty Buffet

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Monday, June 23rd, at 11:19 hours for a Fire Alarm at 427 Baltimore Pike, Dynasty Buffet.  The call was quickly upgraded to a Building Fire when a second call was received advising of an Electrical Fire in the Basement Electric Panel at the Dynasty Buffet.

Chief 44-9 arrived on the scene and had smoke showing from the Dynasty Buffet.  Chief 44-9 established command and had Engine 44-1  position in the front of the Dynasty Buffet and start evacuation of 4 stores (Dynasty Buffet, Careers USA, Catherine's and Polities Florist) in the Stoney Creek Shopping Center . Tower 74 (Primos-Secane Westbrook Park) positioned in the front of the complex and assisted the crew from Engine 44-1.  Quint 03 (Clifton Heights) stood by the hydrant at Baltimore Pike and Norwinden Drive and then  was ordered to the rear of the complex.

The fire was controlled with a dry chemical extinguisher and PECO arrived on the scene and secured the power to the electrical panel.

Firefighters provided ventilation to all the effected stores and checked for any fire extension in the Dynasty Buffet.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 12:40 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-1, Tower 74, Quint 03, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police, Springfield Fire Police, and Springfield Township Fire Marshal.
