Close Call for Ambulance 14-7

Picture 1

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, June 22, at 16:14 hours to the Springfield Mall Parking Lot, 1200 Baltimore Pike for a Vehicle Fire.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B and TAC 44, the vehicle involved was Ambulance 14-7 (Swarthmore).

The crew from Ambulance 14-7 noticed smoke coming from the steering wheel of the ambulance and they quickly pulled over and advised Fireboard to dispatched Ambulance 44-7 because they were transporting a patient and Springfield Fire Company because of the problem.

The patient was transported by Ambulance 44-7 and the crew from TAC 44 and Company 14 checked out the ambulance.  The fire appears to have been electrical in nature and the vehicle did not sustain any serious damage from fire.
