Assist to Media on Dwelling Fire

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, June 10th, at 14:13 hours to assist Media Fire Company (Company 23) at North Providence Road and Monroe Street, Media Borough, for a Dwelling Fire.  Upon arrival of initial units from Company 23 and Rose Tree Fire Company (Company 73), the location of the fire was 821 North Providence Road and firefighters had heavy fire showing from the front porch of a two story twin home.

 ventilation.  Firefighters from Tower 44 laddered the rear and provided vertical ventilation on the main fire building.  Firefighters from Engine 44-2 assisted the crew from Tower 44 in the rear alley.  Firefighters from Company 23 and Company 73 made an aggressive attack on the fire and quickly contained the fire.

Firefighters performed extensive salvage and overhaul operations and checked the exposure building for any fire extension.

The fire is under investigation.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 16:54 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Squrt 23, Quint 73, Tower 44, Engine 44-2, Engine 23-2, Engine 73, Rescue 41(Newtown Square - Rapid Intervention Team), Tele-Squrt 50 (Middletown), Engine 50-1, Engine 51-1 (South Media), Engine 51-1, Rescue 52 (Brookhaven-Air Bank), Ambulance 23-7, Medic 23, Medic 104-7 (Riddle Hospital), Media and Upper Providence Police, Sixth District Fire Police and State Police Fire Marshal.
