Accident on the Pike Injures Two

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Monday, May 12th, at 17:30 hours to Baltimore Pike and North Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  44-13B arrived on the scene and advised Chief 44-9 that there was a two vehicle accident with one subject in serious condition.  Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) and Ambulance 44-7 were requested to expedite due to the condition of the one subject.

TAC 44 arrived on the scene and stabilized both vehicles and set-up to remove the driver-side door of one vehicle to allow for an easier removal of the injured driver.  Rescue 44 assisted the crew from TAC 44.  The driver was removed and transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center.  Medic 103-7B (Delaware County Memorial Hospital) was called to the scene to transport the driver of the other vehicle to DCMH.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 18:00 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Medic 103-7B, Medic 101, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
