Car Strikes Tree Trapping Driver

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Monday, April 21st, at 13:08 hours for a Motor Vehicle Accident at East Woodland Avenue and Maplewood Avenue.  Upon arrival of TAC 44, one vehicle was in the middle of the highway after striking a tree on East Woodland Avenue and the driver was trapped inside the car.

Firefighters from TAC 44 stabilized the vehicle while personnel from Springfield Ambulance and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) evaluated the driver.  Firefighters quickly removed the drivers-side door of the vehicle and EMS personnel were able to remove the driver.

Ambulance 44-7A and Medic 106 transported the driver to Crozer Chester Medical Center Trauma Center.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 13:30 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Ambulance 44-7A, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
