After School Fire in High School Auditorium

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, March 25th, at 15:38 hours to Springfield High School for a Fire Alarm.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9, smoke was showing from the stage area of the auditorium and the school had been evacuated

Engine 44-1 arrived on the scene and investigated the source of the smoke.  School District personnel had used a fire extinguisher to control an electrical fire in the lighting above the stage.  Firefighters checked the area for any possible fire extension and also set-up ventilation in the auditorium.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 16:05 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-1, Engine 03-1 (Clifton Heights), Ambulance 44-7A, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
