Early Morning Car Fire Times Two

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, March 21st, at 02:04 hours for an Investigation in the area of Longview Drive and Locust Avenue.   Upon arrival of Springfield Police, one vehicle was heavily involved in fire in the driveway of 22 Longview Drive and the fire was spreading to a car parked next to the vehicle on fire.

TAC 44 arrived on location and went into service with an 1 3/4" hoseline.  Firefighters worked quickly to limit the fire damage to the second vehicle and to protect the residence from any fire damage.  Firefighters from Engine 44-1 assisted on the scene.

The fire was quickly brought under control with one vehicle being a total loss and the second vehicle sustaining heavy damage to the drivers side and passenger compartment area.

The fire was investigated by Springfield Township's Fire Marshal and was determined not to be suspicious.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 03:20 hours.

Units operating on the scene were: TAC 44, Engine 44-1, Springfield Police and Springfield Township's Fire Marshal.
