Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2003 Springfield Fire Company participated in the 25th Annual Saint Patricks Day Parade on Saturday, March 15th. The parade kicked off at high noon with beautiful weather and many enthusiastic parade watchers. Springfield Fire Company once again marched in this years parade and had all the apparatus lined up behind the marching members. Springfield Fire Company had members from Rockland Hook and Ladder Company # 1, Spring Valley Fire Department, Rockland County, New York participating with them in parade this year. Rockland Hook and Ladder Company # 1 members traveled down for the parade with Rescue 17. Rescue 17s color was inspired by Springfield Fire Companys own Tower 44 after seeing Tower 44 at the Harrisburg Fire Expo in May, 2000. The membership liked the color so much that they painted their new rescue truck the same color. The members have stated that future apparatus of Rockland Hook and Ladder Company will have the same maroon color. The members from Springfield Fire Company could not agree more with the excellent color choice. Members from both companies headed to Springfield Country Club after the parade to celebrate the day and have a good time. Springfield Fire Company would like to thank Rockland Hook and Ladder Company # 1 for participating in the Saint Patricks Day Parade with Rescue 17. We would also like to thank all the parade goers for the wonderful showing of support to Springfield Fire Company and the members of Rockland Hook and Ladder Company # 1. We are always proud to be protecting such a great town. Springfield Fire Company would also like to thank Morton Fire Company for providing an Engine to cover at Station 44 after the parade. |
