Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Beatty Road

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, March 4th, at 16:20 hours for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Fire and Entrapment in the 400 Block of Beatty Road.

Units from Springfield Police arrived and had one subject trapped under a vehicle with a Motorcycle on Fire.  TAC 44 arrived on scene and when into service with a booster line on the Motorcycle Fire.  Personnel from Marple Township Ambulance were on scene and reported the subject under the vehicle was deceased.

Firefighters from TAC 44 and Rescue 44 stabilized the vehicle and used High Pressure Air Bags and Hi-Lift Jacks to provide access from the County Medical Examiner.  Springfield Ambulance transported one subject to Springfield Hospital for observation.

The accident is under investigation by Springfield Police Department.

Firefighters remained on scene until 17:32 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 53, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
