Assist to Broomall on Martens Lane House Fire Springfield Firefighters were on the scene of the Fatal Motorcycle Accident when Fireboard dispatched the Company to Assist Broomall Fire Company (Company 53) on the Dwelling Fire at 717 Martens Lane, Marple Township. Upon arrival of units from Marple Police and Rescue 44, heavy fire was showing from Side D of the Dwelling. TAC 44 and Engine 44-1 arrived on scene and went into service with 2 - 1 3/4" hoselines. Chief 53-9 established Martens Lane Command. Firefighters from Company 44 were able to contain the fast moving fire while firefighters from Tele-Squrt 53 positioned an 1 3/4" hoseline on Side D of the building. Firefighters from Rescue 44 and Tele-Squrt 53 provided horizontal ventilation on the dwelling. Firefighters had heavy fire conditions in the kitchen and garage area of the home. Firefighters from Company 53 provided ventilation of the roof. The fire was contained to the kitchen and garage area, with the entire dwelling sustaining heavy smoke damage. Firefighters performed extensive salvage and overhaul operations. Firefighters remained on the scene until 20:30 hours. Units operating on the scene were: Rescue 44, TAC 44, Engine 44-1, Engine 44-2, Tele-Squrt 53, Snorkel 53, Engine 53-2, Engine 53-3, Rescue 53, Medic 53, Ambulance 53-7 and 53-7A, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Ambulance 44-7A, Marple Township Police and Fire Police. |
