Car Fire Next to New Krispy Kreme Store

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, January 31st, at 22:28 hours for a Vehicle Fire next to the new Krispy Kreme store on Baltimore Pike.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9, the engine compartment was involved in fire with no exposures.

TAC 44 went into service with an 1 3/4" hoseline and quickly extinguished the fire.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 22:56 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  TAC 44, Ambulance 44-7A, and Springfield Police and Fire Police.

The Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Store had its grand opening on Friday morning at 05:30a.m.  No doughnuts were lost in the fire.  Gives new meaning to the Krispy Kreme sign "Hot Now".
