Firefighters Contain Fire to Second Floor Bedroom
Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Wednesday, January 29th at 21:08 hours for a Structure Fire at 1020 Edgewood Road. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9, fire was showing from the second floor bedroom of the two story residence.
Engine 44-1 went into service with a 1 3/4" hoseline and contained the fire to the room of origin. Firefighters from Tower 44, Engine 44-2 and Rescue 44 assisted with a secondary 1 3/4" hoseline, laddered the structure and assisted with checking for fire extension..
Firefighters performed salvage operations on the first floor and basement areas of the home.
The fire is under investigation by the Springfield Township Fire Marshal and appears to be electrical in nature.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 22:33 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Engine 44-2, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-7A, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Fire Police, and the Springfield Township Fire Marshal.
